Philosophy of Care
Travis Jacobs is a Resident in Counseling with a deep commitment to supporting clients through life’s most challenging moments. He provides individual therapy to clients aged 8 and up, including adolescents, adults, and also offers couples counseling.
Travis specializes in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and the complex transitions that often accompany adolescence, aging, and military life. He has a strong background in helping clients explore identity, navigate life stressors, and process trauma. As an LGBTQ-affirming therapist, Travis holds inclusive and affirming space for clients of all identities and backgrounds.
His approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and empowerment. Whether helping a teen navigate social pressures or supporting an adult managing loss, Travis believes therapy is a space for clients to feel seen, heard, and supported—without judgment. He draws from a blend of evidence-based practices including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, EMDR, and elements of existential and person-centered approaches, always tailoring the work to meet each client where they are.
Travis sees the therapeutic relationship as a partnership and works alongside clients to understand their story, clarify their goals, and build tools for resilience. His calm, grounded presence helps clients feel safe as they explore difficult emotions and uncover new possibilities.
