Holly Lilly, Student Intern
Clinician
Philosophy of Care
Holly is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern finishing her final semester of her graduate program. She is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can be heard, respected, and empowered throughout the counseling process. She strives to establish a strong therapeutic relationship built on authenticity, collaboration, empathy, and trust.
Holly’s counseling approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Adlerian Therapy. Through CBT, Holly helps clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing coping skills that promote meaningful and lasting change. Adlerian principles allow her to explore each client’s unique life experiences, family dynamics, strengths, personal goals, and sense of belonging by recognizing how these factors shape current functioning. By combining these approaches, she works collaboratively with clients to foster self-awareness, build resilience, and empower individuals to make positive changes in their lives.
She recognizes that each client has unique experiences, strengths, backgrounds, and personal values. She tailors her approach to meet each client’s individual needs and understands that effective counseling is not a one-size-fits-all process. Holly understands that therapy is a collaborative partnership where clients are the experts of their own lives, while she provides guidance, encouragement, and psychoeducation, and uses evidence-based interventions to support client’s personal growth. As a Clinical Mental Health Intern, Holly is committed to learning and continuing professional development. She considers it a privilege to help individuals through their life challenges and is passionate about helping clients develop the skills needed to achieve emotional well-being for a more fulfilling life.
